McIsaac Darragh Chartered Accountants is a full-service chartered accountancy firm, providing planning and advisory services in addition to traditional tax and accounting work to a variety of industries and non-profit organizations. We pride ourselves on staying up-to-date with professional issues through in-house training and industry-sponsored professional development.
We obtain a thorough knowledge of our clients and their industries to ensure that we are aware of their related issues and challenges. We stay current on developments in Canadian tax, privacy legislation, accounting and auditing pronouncements, and other business related issues.
Our offices are located in Amherst, Nova Scotia. We serve a client base in Cumberland and Colchester counties in Nova Scotia and Westmoreland County in southern New Brunswick. Prior to December 2007, the firm operated for many years as sj McIsaac Chartered Accountants.

Susan J. McIsaac, FCPA, FCA
Partner
Susan McIsaac - After graduating from Mount Allison University in 1988 at the top of her class, Susan obtained her CA designation with honours in 1990, ranking first in Atlantic Canada, and in the top 20 in Canada. She was employed for over 11 years with Grant Thornton in Amherst. Susan gives back to her profession, teaching a variety of courses for Provincial Institutes, and is a past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia. Active in the Amherst business community, she is also a past president of the Rotary Club of Amherst. She speaks frequently to groups on estate planning and succession issues, and has particular experience with agricultural and woodlot issues. Susan received her FCA designation from the Nova Scotia Institute in December 2007 in recognition of her accomplishments in her career and her service to her profession and community.

Vicki Darragh, CPA, CA
Partner
Vicki Darragh - graduated with honours from Mount Allison University in 1994. Vicki obtained her CA designation with honours in 1996 with PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) in Saint John, New Brunswick. She was a manager with Grant Thornton in Amherst for a year prior to moving to sj mcisaac Chartered Accountants in 1999. She became a partner in the firm effective January 1 2007.
Vicki has extensive experience in serving the needs of the commercial sector, and enjoys a reputation of providing sound practical advice at all stages of a business' development.

Louise MacKinnon, CPA, CA
Principal
Louise MacKinnon - hails from PEI, where she graduated from UPEI with a BBA degree. She received her CA designation in 1996, and worked for 17 years with a national firm prior to joining McIsaac Darragh as a Principal in 2011.
Louise has extensive audit and assurance experience with both public and private entities, and has a keen interest in providing business advisory services to small and medium sized family enterprises. Throughout her career, she has been active in her community, and she looks forward to continuing this contribution as she becomes active in the Amherst community.

Cindy Costin-Fury - graduated from Mount Allison University in 2005 with a BComm (accounting). On graduation, she worked as a personal account manager at TD Bank in Amherst prior to deciding to pursue her CA designation. Cindy joined McIsaac Darragh in January 2008 and successfully wrote the 2010 UFE. Obtaining her CA in 2010, she has experience in financial statement preparation and analysis, auditing of profit and not-for profit entities, personal and corporate income tax preparation, and business and tax planning.

Selena MacDonald - In 2006 Selena graduated from Mount Allison University with a BComm (accounting) and was hired by sj micsaac Chartered Accountants later that same year. She started in the bookkeeping department, but over the years has moved into assurance. Selena successfully completed the Certified General Accounts program and obtained the CGA designation in June 2011.
Selena has experience in personal and corporate tax preparation, auditing not-for-profit organizations and financial statement preparation. She also provides advisory services to registered charities on how to maintain their charity status.

Melissa MacDonald - In 2011, Melissa started her career with McIsaac Darragh while on a work-term for the business administration program at NSCC. On completion of her work-term, she was hired part-time while finishing her degree through distance at Mount Saint Vincent University. Graduating in 2013 with her BBA, Melissa continued her studies obtaining her CPA designation in 2015.
Melissa has experience in personal, corporate and trust tax planning and preparation, auditing for profit and not-for profit entities and financial statement preparation.

Emily Ripley – In 2015, Emily started her career with McIsaac Darragh while finishing her degree at Mount Allison University. She obtained her CPA designation in December 2018.
After a few years living in Alberta, she now lives at the farm she grew up on in rural Nova Scotia and loves to take care of her animals, especially her chickens! She volunteers with the Girl Guides of Canada in Amherst and is keen on contributing to her community, both personally and professionally.
Emily has gained experience in personal, corporate, and charitable tax returns and financial statement audits and reviews for a broad range of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and has provided training and mentoring for new students. Emily plans to focus on tax advice for owner-managed businesses.
