Prince Edward Island is the smallest of the Canadian provinces both in size and population. While it is densely populated, it is not overcrowded. The Province is also called 'PEI', or simply 'The Island'. The capital city is Charlottetown. The 'Island way of life' is an often quoted and much discussed idea in Canada's small green province in the Gulf.
For both Islanders and those 'from away' the quality of Life on this Island is the best. It is an ideal place to raise a family, to operate a business or to rejuvenate the mind. While strong points of views still exist over the benefits of constructing the Confederation Link Bridge, many of the concerns have proven to be unwarranted, and the Link has opened the Island to new businesses and opportunities.
Despite its reputation for being a bucolic tourist destination, Prince Edward Island is an excellent business location, offering a dynamic and competitive business environment, state of the art infrastructure and a highly skilled labour force. In addition to highly successful businesses which reflect heavily on its traditional three industries of fishing, tourism and agriculture, the Island has developed a strong reputation for its aerospace, information technology, bio-tech, film and media sectors in recent years.
